Day 11 Summary (6/13)

Results- Group C
Mexico and Venezuela draw at 1-1
Uruguay def. Jamaica 3-0

Mexico v Venezuela
Could Venezuela be legitimate contenders? They knocked off Uruguay and Jamaica, and were leading Mexico up until the 80th minute. You almost feel as though they could make a run into the knockout stages, if they weren't going up against Argentina. As for Mexico, although they would have preferred a win, they extend the unbeaten streak to 22 with a draw. They still dominated the Venezuelans in stats, our-possessing them 67-33, out-shooting them 25-10, and out passing them 381-155(!!!!). Nonetheless Mexico and Venezuela both finish with 7 points, and there still has not been a team to finish the group stage with 3 wins and 9 points (although Argentina likely will).

Uruguay v Jamaica
Uruguay salvaged their reputation there, smashing Jamaica 3-0. This win moved Uruguay's goal differential back to 0, which is respectable. Uruguay leaves the tournament on a high note. As for Jamaica, they failed to score a goal for the 2nd straight year. They have been absolutely dismal in recent years, but they still have a shot to qualify for the World Cup in 2018, if they step up their play.
