Day 6 Summary (6/8)

Results- Group B
Brazil def. Haiti 7-1
Ecuador and Peru draw at 2-2

Brazil v Haiti
This result is hilariously ironic. 7-1: the same score of the semi-final match between Brazil and Germany during the 2014 World Cup. Fortunately for Brazil, they were not the ones on the losing end this time around. Brazil dominated the Haitians on all fronts, out-possessing them 65-35, out-shooting them 20-9, out-passing them 654-324, and, of course, out-scoring them 7-1. Haiti becomes the first team officially eliminated from the cup, after starting the cup with two consecutive losses. Brazil now moves into first place in Group B, as they have 4 points and lead Peru in goal differential.

Ecuador v Peru
Peru started this match on fire, scoring twice in the first 13 minutes. However, Ecuador battled back to level the game by the 49th minute, but even though they attacked hard, they could not score that third goal to go ahead. Overall, Ecuador were clearly the better team, but since they were not too strong early, they could not get the win in this match. However, they can still advance rather easily, if they defeat Haiti and the Brazil/Peru match does not end as a draw. They can advance automatically if they win by 2 goals or more. As for the Peruvians, they can advance if they win, but if they draw or lose, Ecuador will move ahead of them.
