USA v Paraguay

This match will be the last one of the cup for one of these teams. It is basically guaranteed that the winner of this match will advance as second place in the group, and square off against the winner of Group B in the quarterfinals. A draw means the USA will advance. Both teams have everything to play for, but the USA have the momentum and confidence, after just smashing Costa Rica 4-0. Paraguay is coming off a tough loss to Colombia. Ultimately, I believe that the first match against Colombia brought the USA back to the ground, and it gave them new focus and determination. It shone through against Costa Rica, and it will again today against Paraguay.

Prediction: USA wins 2-0

Colombia v Costa Rica

Costa Rica is more or less eliminated. The only way they can advance is if the USA loses or draws, AND they win by 4 goals or more. Colombia on the other hand has already clinched a spot in the quarterfinals, and is looking to clinch 1st place in the group with a win or draw today. They most certainly do not want to let their good play go to waste, and will finish the group stage strong with a victory or the struggling Costa Ricans.

Prediction: Colombia wins 2-0
